“It’s never too late — never too late to start over, never too late to be happy.” – Jane Fonda

As college students, sometimes it is very easy to think you need to have it all together. There is so much pressure to get it right the first time. As a high school student, you immediately were told to start thinking about a major and what you wanted to do with your life. There will be times when you’ll mess up or not like the path you are on.

Like the quote says, it is never too late for anything. If you don’t like the way something is going, change it, start over, and keep going. This is a very helpful reminder when you’re trying to push through the semester.

“You’re only human. You live once and life is wonderful, so eat the damned red velvet cupcake.” – Emma Stone

It is so okay to eat that last piece of cake. Sometimes college students just need to wind down. As a student, sometimes trying to keep everything together and balancing school, work, exercise, and a social life can be overwhelming.

As you are trying to push through the semester, remember it is okay to treat yourself in whatever way you see fit. Some students opt for eating the piece of cake and others like to do some retail therapy. Whatever you need to do, go ahead and do it.

“Sometimes you can have the smallest role in the smallest production and still have a big impact.” – Neil Patrick Harris

Sometimes as a student, you can feel very “small.” You can feel as though your opinion or thoughts do not matter. People larger or with more experience than you may feel as if, because of your age, you have nothing of value to share.

You should never let this define your significance. Even if a lot of people do not know you or what you stand for, you are still important. This is a great reminder as you are trying to work your way up to the top and push through the semester. Your thoughts, input, and effort all matter.

“You pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too. That’s a part of it. I’d be more frightened by not using whatever abilities I’d been given. I’d be more frightened by procrastination and laziness.” – Denzel Washington

This quote embodies the essence of being a college student. Nothing is always sunshine and rainbows. Difficult times will arise, but it’s how you push through that matters. Denzel Washington makes the point to say that you have to use what you’ve been given.

It is also so easy to be lazy and procrastinate as a college student, but that is when nothing ever gets done. As you push through the semester, it is always good to remember to work hard.

“A lot of people give up just before they’re about to make it. You know you never know when that next obstacle is going to be the last one.” – Chuck Norris

Many college students may be struggling with finding the motivation to continue on through the semester. This quote encourages people to keep going because you never know how close you are. You never know how your hard work will pay off or what it will lead to.

Many times school can become overwhelming and cumbersome, so students become tired and unmotivated throughout the semester. Some students might be working towards a goal that does not seem too possible right now. This quote is a good reminder to just keep pressing on because you never know how close you are.

“All successes begin with self-discipline. It starts with you.” – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

Many college students would agree that one of the biggest transitions from high school to college is learning how to manage their time better. Time management is a very key component to academic success. This quote is pointing out the fact that success begins with self-discipline. As students, you have to be able to discipline yourself and manage your time if you want to do well in many aspects.

“You can’t control the things that happen to you but you can control the way you react to them.” – Kristen Bell

As a college student, there will be difficult times. Things may not go as planned and you may feel discouraged. You cannot really control anything you go through, but you do have control of how you act. If you choose to have a positive mind and react positively, then you might feel better about the situation.

For example, if you receive a really bad grade on a test you know you studied for, it might not be best to react poorly. Instead, you could go to your professor’s office hours and discuss the exam with them.
